Oktoberfest

Bavaria and Oktoberfest has a unique connection!

Right from the 18th century from the time of marriage ceremony of King Ludwig, it is celebrated in Munich. It’s a 3 weeks long festival starting from mid of September to first week of October.

To witness this grand fest, thousands of people from all over the world come to Munich.

Ladies wearing dirndl and gents wearing lederhose (leather pants and checks shirt) is the Hallmark of Octoberfest!

I had been to Oktoberfest in 2017.At the entrance security was tight and all the emergency services were ready. This was essential because festival ground was literally flooded with people.

People were enjoying in groups. There were so many tents and beer was served in the tent along with chicken or wurst. People were relishing their food and drinks with lots of laughter and talks!

I too enjoyed a Brezel bread and ginger bread.

There were so many rides and games for children and a child in me enjoyed that too!

So I understood why every Bavarian eagerly waits for Oktoberfest every year.

It’s nothing but the relaxation and get together with friends just before the winter starts.

So after reading this, am sure those who haven’t been to Oktoberfest yet, will definitely attend it this year!
