148 out of 160

Today was the last day in Deutsch Akademie 1A course . First we received the results of our writing test, and my results were pretty good- 148 points out of 160, so I was in a good mood! Later on we decided to go somewhere to celebrate the results and the end of our course.  We went to the Marienplatz and chose a place, which everyone seem to like. It was not only leisure, but a german practice as well. We had to order drinks and food on our selves. At the same time we were talking about our home countries. We discussed our traditions and cultures, as well as eatings and drinks. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly. During the studying time we really got much closer to each other.I didn’t expect this trip at the end of the course, but however I found it useful and I’ve enjoyed it!Thank you, Deutsch Akademie!

Münchner Freiheit

ufo.jpgMünchner Freiheit is another outstanding example of how creative the engineers can be! In my opinion this racy and full of contrasts structure deserves an engineering Grammy. Both the outer and the underground parts are filled with surprises- the mirror ceiling, the blue columns, which get illuminated by blue LED’s, the ground construction of the tram stop, which looks like an UFO… all these ingredients make the U-Bahn station Münchner Freiheit look very unusual and controversial. I’ve been to Munich for about 2 months and during this time I have seen so many spectacular things, including buildings and architectural masterpieces, that I can say for sure – Munich is a place you can live nice and enjoy your staying!

Highlight Towers

giant.jpgI took  U-6  and decided  to start my weekend training at Alte- Heide.  I was jogging in the district Milbertshofen am Hart. I was very surprised when I saw a sky-scratcher on my way. I have to admit, that there are not so many things, which can divert me, while I’m jogging. However this was one of them. So I stopped… I took a slow walk around to discover the building. It is amazing and effective picture. It is massive and at the same time very elegant. I think it hangs on the fully glazed mirror- facades and sharp corners, which makes this giant look “slim fit”. Only later at home, when I’ve reached the internet, I found out that it is an office building, called Highlight Towers.Taking into account, that Munich for approximately 80% consists of old buildings, there should be many opponents of this building. Candidly my first reaction was the same. But later I found this building very interesting, unusual and even nice… and it is interesting exactly because of the fact, that all other buildings in Munich are classical and not that “screamy”. I love the irregular architecture!

To all the ice cream lovers!

During the last hot summer days I discoverd my deep passion for the ice cream. There are lots of ice cream stations in Munich, which offer all possible variations of ice cream, including such exclusive tastes like grapefruit, snickers, cookies, litchi, passion fruit, grape, papaya etc. However my favorite taste is mango. It is not that fat as for instance strawberry, tastes like a real mango fruit and is very freshen. You have to try it. It’s delicious!

Berg in Olimpia Park

img_0697.JPG When You will visit the Olympia Park, try to find the additional strength in yourself and spend 30 minutes more by climbing to the viewpoint, from which opens a wonderful panorama over the whole Munich. If the weather is good you are able to see even the Alps! At the same time the best sightviews of Munich can`t hide from you. The most popular Munich tourist locations are only a look away from you:  BMW Welt, BMW Museum, BMW Office, Allianz Arena, Frauenkirche and many other places. The breathtaking view on the roofs of the Olympia Park buildings is unforgettable. These glazed constructions look like sails and seems to simply hang in the air… This panorama is a “must have” for the visitor of Munich city!

Alps

img_0550.JPG Those who enjoy winter sports, like skying or snowboarding, know that Alps is one of the best places for it. And living in Munich can give You a chance to do it more often, because by taking a car You can easily reach the mountain area. The route from Munich is about 300 km. I am a big fan of winter sports, especially snowboarding and I am really missing snowy times. I’ve never been in Alps in summer before, so I’ve decided to go in this experience and drive to the Alps. Despite the fact that my walking trip in the mountain area was about 3-4 hours long in each direction. The sights were fantastic! At the hight of about 3000m You are standing at the same level with clouds and birds. The green landscape takes You away from city stress!

Hot Munich!

The Munich summertime offers a lot of sunshine and positive mood. But sometimes it seems to be tooooo hot! It is so hot, that you even can’t breathe normally and because of the heat you start feeling yourself really upset.  At these moments you would be especially happy to dive into a forest lake or into a swimming pool and after it to have a cocktail in the coconut, like it is usually shown in commercials.  Unfortunately most of us don’t own private pools, don’t film in commercials and all Munich lakes are at least 2 hours away from the city center! However there is a solution and it sounds I-S-A-R !!! The river Isar goes through the heart of Munich and the water coming from Alps is cold enough to cool down everyone who’s been caught by the hot Munich climate!  5- minute – walk away from the S-Bahn station Isartor you will find a popular Isar beach.  It is a nice place by the river and a great opportunity to resist the sun attack. Please be careful and take into account, that the stream is very fast! Only good and very self-confident swimmers or surfers  ,) can enter the water careless.

Parking

img_0240.JPGAs You already noticed, one of the most popular  vehicles in Munich is bycicle! Here are thousands of bycicles. And The way, how some people park their transport, makes me really smile. In the attachment You will find a nice example of how creative the people in Munich are :)
