DeutschAkademie: how does it work?
A tip for Italians in Munich
Ciao a tutti,

Winter Wonderland: Neuschwanstein!
Do you wanna see the Disney Castle? I mean, not the fake one you can find at Disneyland… Yes, that’s real and you can visit it.
King Ludwig II almost sent his kingdom to bankruptcy, by perseverating in a colossal project for a dream romantic castle. Ironically, the same castle that at the time of his construction almost drained the pockets of the Bavarians, today is by far the largest moneymaker in Germany and one of the most visited place in Europe (1.5 million people yearly). In summer the castle receives up to 6000 visitors per day!
So if you want to see something astonishing, in a winter wonderland setup with less tourists around, definitely go to Neuschwanstein in winter! Only precaution: cover yourself heavily. Today it was a sunny day with -22 °C !!!

National Gallery: an amazing piece of… Collection!
Who ever said paintings are boring? Who ever thought a museum could not give you strong emotions? Well, that’s the case for the London’s National Gallery.
Imagine an art collection that spans over 8 centuries. Imagine something like 2300 works of art gathered together. Imagine some of the most famous paintings from Monet, Leonardo, Seurat, van Gogh, Canaletto, Cezanne, Rembrandt etc etc etc.
Imagine all this located in the heart of lovely London. And imagine to be able to visit this museum as much as you want, FOR FREE. That’s it, you have the National Gallery!
Personally I found by chance one of my all-time favourite paintings. An unbelievably huge work which marked the usage of a new technique called Pointillisme.

F.C. Bayern, Stern des Südens!
When in Munich, if zou guys have a free saturday afternoon (and around 40 euros available in your pocket) you have to attend a Bayern F.C. game.
Last Saturday we finally got our ticket for Bundesliga: Bayern vs. Wolfsburg. The vibration starts as early as we got out of the U-bahn in Fröttmaning station. A river of football fans wearing anything white and red, the colors of the local team. And as soon as the well known shape of the ALLIANZ ARENA appeared behind a building the excitement was up to the stars!
After a brief control we got in and almost running we climbed inside the bowels of the wonderful stadium. The clock was running being the whistle only few minutes away. The majority of the spectators were already seated and roaring chants… the way to the seats was going through a small crack in the concrete walls of the structure… an impressive glance and rumble opens up full power as soon as we walked past the entrance to the pulsting core of the Arena… WHAT AN EMOTION!
And how incredible was to jump together with more than 60.000 people singing the F.C.B chants!
And then in the second time, after 60 minutes of pretty “quiet” game… TOOOOOOR!!
München, ZWEI! Wolfsburg, NUUUUUUULL! DANKE. BITTTTE!
Mein Geburtsort: Fornello!
Fornello is a little, no sorry, a microscopic village belonging to the Comune of Ziano Piacentino in the Piacenza province.
That’s where I come from. Fornello (“Little oven” in Italian) takes its name from the old oven where clay was cooked in order to produce bricks for building and construction. The first documented evidence of an agglomerate of houses is from around the 1100. Around the 1400 the oven was completed and the production of stones and bricks. In this period begun also the first reported plantations of grapes for wine production. The climate was so favourable for this kind of agricultural activity that the hills sorrounding this area are nowadays very famous for the quality of their wines.
