Linderhof Schloss is the smallest of the three castles built by König Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed.  It was inspired on Versailles Castle and took about 23 years to be finished. The place has a lot of rooms since small to big ones and a huge variety of mirrors which makes the place looks bigger. A curious fact is that the König Ludwig II used to live alone in the castle and did not like to be disturbed, especially during his meals. Thinking about it, he asked for a private dining room: there was a basement where his employees prepared the food and to avoid disturbing him, they sent the food through a table that worked as a lift. When Ludwig pushed a kind of a button, the table that was in the dining room went to the basement and pushing the button again the table went up again with the food. The staff had to lay the table for at least four persons because it is said that the king used to talk to imaginary people while he was eating. For Ludwig II enjoyed the company of those people and admired them.

The visit inside the castle is very quick but you can take advantage and practice your German!! The explanation is in German but you can find a book with the explanations in many different languages as Romanian, Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian and so on. So you can read it in your mother tongue and try to follow the German explanation.

If you get sick of visiting the castle and the garden you can go to Ettal. A city close pretty close where you can find a lot of nice things as the Pope’s beer (irony??) and the typical Bavarian underwear (some say they are too small…Eaowwww).

Freiheit, Freedom, Libertad or Liberdade, is the name of the biggest Japanese community outside Japan in São Paulo City in Brazil. The name of the neighborhood comes from the slavery times. The area was known as “Field Strength” and it was the only place where the owners of the slaves allowed them to go when they were not working. In other words, it used to be the only place where they could have some kind of freedom.

At the beginning of the 20^th century the changes in the neighborhood (that used to be inhabited by Italians) started. In 1908 the first Japanese immigrants were brought to “build America” what meant to plant coffee in the countryside of São Paulo. Most of people could not get used to the slave routine so they went back to the capital. On the following decades more and more Japaneses were arriving and they have chosen Liberdade to be their home.

If you walk in the streets you will feel like in Japan. The narrow streets, the plates in the shops written in Portuguese and Japanese with vertical letters, a lot of colors, a lot of different smell in the air, the artisan market place in the center, gardens, typical Japanese fixtures, typical foods, typical clothes…you will feel that you have crossed the Pacific ocean and changed to another country.

Not all of the Japaneses that live today in Brazil can speak Portuguese so the gestures language is used very often what makes us feel that we are far far far away from the chaos of São Paulo city.

Liberdade is the kind of place who shows its own identity and culture in the streets, buildings and people’s smile. It is part of a city-word called São Paulo.

Today was my last day in A 1.1 group. Next week I am going to face new challenges going to A1.2 level! Oh Gosh!

For me this is the summary of my last class:

• Ich finde den Sprachkurse shwierig, zu schnell und interessant aber teur.
• Ich hat Geburstag um 11 September. Mein stehzeichen ist Jungfrau. Eine Jungfrau ist romantikerin, empfindlich, perfektionistin und nicht schüchtern.
• Ich bin 906 geboren! (Eeeeeewww)
• I learn how to make a turban!!!!

Here it is my insider’s tip number 3: Ammersee!

If you don’t have any plans for a sunny day you can take a train on       Hauptbanhof and go to Ammersee lake! It is about 40 minutes from Munich. You have to climb for about one hour to arrive to the lake but it really worth it! The view is wonderful and you will feel closer to nature. You can also take a sun bath, swim and rent a boat to appreciate the view from the inside of the lake.

Hello guys!

You know what is the most interesting thing in studying in Deutschakademie??

Besides learning german very very fast (when I first started 4 weeks ago I wasn’t able to write a sentence and now I can write a lot about me, where I came from, what I am doing in Munich…) we can meet peolpe from different countries and cultures. In my class I have a lot of people from different countries and despite not all of us speaks the same language, we can communicate and now in German as well!

It is nice because you can make a lot of new friends and without going anywhere you can know a bit of each culture, language, behavior, religion and typical food.

I love to meet new people and through this blog I have met two girls from Brazil (Mimi is the one in the picture with me). If you want to make a Brazilian friend, just let me know, I will be a pleasure to show a bit more about Brazil for you.

In Brazil it is a kind of tradition to make graduation parties, specially when you finish your technical school or your bachelor.

I graduated myself one for my technical school and in one year I will graduate for my bachelor. Normally the party takes two or three days – it depends on the amount of money that you want to spend.

On the first day we receive our diploma, take an oath (there is one special for who is graduating in medicine), sing the Brazilian’s anthem and honor our teachers and parents. We need to go dressed in black vestiment with a blue belt (for medicine the belt is green) and a fluffy white stuff around our neck – don’t ask me what is this for because I have no idea.

On the second day it is the official party! We have a small dinner with meat, pasta, different kind of chesses and snacks, vodka, tequila, beer, coquetails and music all night long! At the beggining of this party, just after the dinner, we need to dance waltz with three different persons: your dad if you are a girl and with your mom if you are a guy, with a godfather/mother (you choose someone) and the last one with boy/girlfriend or a friend. After this is you just take out your high hills and put on your Havaianas and PARTY ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!

Toda was our last class before the final exam! I have to confess that today I was a bit worried about it because I didn’t feel prepared to do it but my teacher corrected my homework today and I went very well on it. I am very impressed with my fast development in German!

“Ich heisse Gabi. Ich bin 24 Jahre alt. Ich komme aus Brasilien. Ich Whone in Muenchen. Ich spreche Portuguiesisch, Englischs und ein bisschen Deutsch und Spanisch. Ich bin Lebensmittelingeneurin. Ich tanze samba gern. Im Muenchen wohne ich in einer Zimmer im Studentenwohnheim. Meine Wohnung liegt in der Stadt. Sie hat 4 Zimmer, eine Kuche, eine Toilette und ein Bad. Die Zimmer ist hell und gross. Sie hat 20 qm. Mein Zimmer kostet 600, -¢. In meinem Zimmer stehen ein Tisch, ein Stuhl, ein Sofa, ein Teppich, ein Regal und ein Bucherschrank. Auf dem Tisch steht ein Computer. Der schrank steht neben meninem Sofa. Der Stuhl ist zwischen dem schrank und dem Sofa. Ein grosser Teppich liegt auf dem Fussboden. “

I think Deutsch Akademie is doing a great job! Hope to make a good exam tomorrow.

If you are a night club fan you can not miss 089.

It is a night club in Maximilianstrasse near to Pacha night club. Actually our intention was try to get into Pacha but it seems they are very restrict and as our name wasn’t in the guest’s list we could not enter so we decided to go to this one just next to Pacha. It is a bite small but there is very good music (80’s, eletro, pop and so on).

Ah, everybody goes well dressed so put your best clothes, leave your problems at home and enjoy your night. And of course you can not forget to go to Mc Donald’s after the party it is over!!!!

Was siehst du auf dem Bild?

Auf dem Bild sehe eine Stadion. Das ist Morumbi – Stadion. Die Stadion liegt in São Paulo. São Paulo ist in Brasilien. Das Bild ist dunkel , aber die Stadion ist hell. Sie ist im Zentrum von Bild. Das ist eine Fuβball Stadion. Die Stadion liegt in Norden von São Paulo. Die Stadium ist sehn groβ. Sie nimmt 40.000 Personen auf. Die Stadion ist eine sehenwurdigkeit von Brasilien ;)
