Reading German News!!

Hey Leute,

Now I want to give you some tips for improving your german and one that really help me out, was watching german news, reading the newspaper, watching tv in general, sports, anything related to actual hapenings around germany and the world. At the begining could be hard but the more you parctice, the more you will understand…try to first read, listen, watch, anything…without loooking everyword in the dictionary you don´t get…just keep reading and later on you will realize you will be getting more and more, of course you won´t get everything but at least the main ideas on your first try but keep pushing..

Tandem!!

Hey Leute,

For those who don´t know what really “Tandem” means, it is basically exchanging your language with an other person, who lives in this case, in Munich and speaks other language (german). You can arrange regular meetings and you can improve your foreign language skills and get
authentic information directly from a native speaker. The best part is Free, you only need to find a german who wants to learn your native language and that´s is. it´s easy, free and on internet there are many sites where you can find them..or just post a sign on the streets with your contact…that´s it!!

Zeugnis für deutsch “Evidence for German”

Hey Leute,

I don´t know if someone knows about the extra services of Deutsche Akademie, for example, I was asking in the office for any kind of proof of my perfomances during class (grades) and they gave me this official Paper which specify your grades in different categories. Personally, I found really helpful due to the fact that I´m applying to a Masters here in Germany, and it is atractive for the Universities to see how well you are doing in your german course. So, just ask in the office and they will be pleased to help you out with that…

LederHose

Hey Leute,

For those who don´t know how important it is to have one pair of “LederHosen”…Since we are in Bayern, it is a must to own this particular german pants…somehow it will help you to adapt better with the german atmosphere..and to be honest they are quite comfortable…but the sad part of the story is the LederHosen are really expensive due to the fact of the material they were made of..anyway…just don´t buy the first pair you see…you can always get better offers…but hurry up…they become more expensive when the Oktoberfest is close..C&A is a god and quite affordable alternative for buying your first LederHose..or if you lucky…on the Flohmarkt!!..that would be the cheapest option…

Cheers,

OKTOBERFEST!!

Hey leute,

Yeah I´ve lived it and was quite wild….lots of fun….lots of beer..to be more precise..over 6 million liters of beer are consumed every year…but let me tell you some advices about it. Actually I had the opportunity to go twice in 2009, and I went with friends that I meet during my time in Cologne (Köln). You will see many of them in the picture, the group was quite mix..americans, spanish, mexican, korean, taiwanish and some french. So, First of all, try to go as early as possible, as might knot it gets really but really full…so take your time and plan the trip in advance…as you might know as well..it´s really expensive..so my suggestion is to drink something in your place, hostal or wherever far from the oktoberfest, everything around is quite expensive. If you decide to go a bit late will be quite hard to get into a tent, which is highly recommended by me if you want to experience the real german tradition, but what we did was different and risky but it worked for us…so here´s the story…we were a group of almost 15 people and getting in was a big problem but another friend and me decided to try to get in from the kitchen…yeah…the kitchen staff have a area where they go to smoke or just rest…and they always let the doors open….perfect…so once you are inside, just tell the security guys in the entrance to let your group pass because you already have a table and maybe try to sound as german as possible and that´s it…

bis nächste mal!!

then we right awat we hit the city and did some shooping..ohhh….by the way….for those who love to go shooping..Franfurt it´s the place!!!..grreat brands…and great deals!!!..trust me I came back with lots of things…At night we went to a wine-garten….yeah…the bier-garten concept but there with wine….was quite interesting….it´s in a open area…full of international people…really cool….highly recommended the wine-garten if you go to Frankfurt..everyone knows…just ask people in the street…if anyone wants some tips about Frankfurt let me know….Bis nächste mal!!
