Hello people

Today I will like to talk with you about the five tips that in my experience you have to have in mind whenever you are learning a language but specifically German so let’s start:

One of you have to be really constant understudy meaning dad you should be able to study at home for a one or two hours every day if you really want to acquire more vocabulary correct your grammar that should be enough .

You should never skip classes because some of the topics that you were going to see in class are really important and a basis for the topics that you will see in the future.

Always do the homework every time your teacher leaves you something to do at home is for you to improve your German so always do your homework !!

Try to hang out with German people or at least to speak with them because the only way to really improve your pronunciation is to speak German with people that can correct you and tell you if you are saying something wrong.

Read books or articles into a magazine or in the newspape also listen to music and watch tv or Netflix in German, to read and listen at German things will give you fluency when you read and speak, will expand your vocabulary as well as improve your grammar.

Hello people

Today I want to tell you about what I did in class today was the end of my month course and what we did was a simulation of the b2.2 Prüfung which for who don’t know that’s the exam you have to do to pass from level in German and I am having mine at the end of this month so this simulation helped me to realize that I have to work harder and study a lot more because even if I think that I performed well I think there are a lot of topics I need to practice more because to learn German it’s an every day work you have to be constantly aware of your surroundings  and the really motivated,

Hello people

Today I would like to tell how has been my experience with Munich and the activities to spend on your free time. Munich is a great city it has a lot of attractions both inside and outside the city, you can have incredible experiences for a really low cost, as student you have a lot of discounts and promotions you can use in the museums, Munich is worldwide known because of its history, art and beauty, it has a lot of museums and galleries for you to visit every weekend, parks and pools for you to enjoy in hot days and a lot of places and parties where you can meet a lot of people from your own country and other parts in the world,

For example every first week in Deutsche Akademie there’s a reunion of all the students that are in courses with the school, there or you can meet a lot of new people and share your experiences here in Munich.

There are also a lot of thematic parties where you can enjoy food from your country, traditional dances or simply just being with people that understand your culture, I have been in several Latin parties and I have loved the experience because even if I am living an incredible experience here in Germany sometimes I miss Mexico and my family so being around people that understands that give me the chance to don’t  miss that much.

Hello people

Today I would like to tell you about the last new experience I lived with my family, my host parents both of them have German nationality but she is also Mexican, both of the have form part of the ‘Cowboys Club München’ which is a really interesting hobby first the club is located near the Isar pretty close to the zoo, it’s a really beautiful place, it is surrounded by a lot of trees and nature, inside everything is thematic and everyone dressed as if they were in the old west so it’s really interesting to see the hobby of other people the have an open doors event every  which helps them to earn funds for the club, they play games with the visitors,  prepare food and let people enjoy from the atmosphere, they also have a museum in which they have typical things from both Indians and cowboys, and did I mention they have horses ?, they have three horses and they are so beautiful and nice

Hello people!

Today in class we saw one movie called ‘Goodbye Lenin !’ I really really liked it because it talks about the fall of the Berlin Wall. This was a really important event in German history because it marks the beginning of Germany as we know it today. All of it started after the World War Two when Germany was defeated and the allies divided the territory between them. The USA, France and Great Britain unified their part of the country, that’s how the BRD was founded. While this was happening the Soviet Union was forming the DDR as a part of the country. Germany played a really important role in the conflict between capitalists and socialist blocks.

The movie is about a boy and it’s family, in which after the mother (a really good citizen dedicated to the socialist party) falls ill and in coma for 8 months. Meanwhile there are really important changes, not only in the politics and society, but also in the family. Her son has met the love of his life called Lara, so as his sister. There are new and more globalized brands etc. After eight months his mothers wakes up and in order to don’t cause her another heart attack he acts like if nothing has happened (if the DDR would still exist). He’s getting into an odyssey to find the same food and products they had in the DDR, he would try to protect his mother against the outside world but in the end he would notice that only truth can free him.

I highly recommend this movie to understand one really important part of German history but also it’s a really good movie with a captivating plot, plus you can watch it in German and practice listening skills.

Hello People!

In this blog I would like to share with you what I did on my weekend. Right now I’m living with a host family, my host parents and their dog Simon. I’ve been living with them for the past three months they’re really good people, my host mom it’s Mexican like me that way I’ve been missing less my country and my family. My host father is German born here in Munich, thanks to that he have been able to show me a lot of traditions and have explained me something’s that only German people would know, such as magical locations. Last weekend they invited me to the lake of starnberg. It was amazing, the weather was really warm I enjoyed it a lot we took a bier in the local biergarten and talked until we went back home.

Starnberg is a really famous lake right in the south of Munich, in winter it’s really cold but now in summer it’s an incredible place to come with friends and enjoy activities such as swimming, kayaking or just relaxing.

Everyone that’s living in Munich should visit it at least once.

Until next time,

Valeria

Hello people!

In this blog I’m going to write about my experience with the libraries in Munich. The first months I got here i had a lot of free time that I would pass without studying German or getting in contact with the language, but after three months here I really wanted to get involved more in the language. That was how after my friends told me about how amazing is the library system here in Munich I had to try it. For people that have lived here all their lives may not understand why I was so impressed with the libraries, but back in Mexico they are a whole different. We do not have a culture of going into the libraries or lend books from it, in part is because of the lack of promotion by the government and society, but also because the areas aren’t adapted for student or people that it’s interested in reading or studying. Here with the library ID you can get into the different libraries in Munich and can borrow as much books as you’d like either it’s for school or just to relax. To get the library ID you just have to present a valid ID, the confirmation that you are registered in Munich and pay 4 euros for a three month membership.

I strongly recommend you to get a library ID!

Hallo Leute

In this blog I will be talking about Munich, watch I love about this city is that it’s really safe competing it with Mexico City that is the city I’ve lived my whole life. I find Munich really quiet but also very loud and full of life when it wants to, it the type of city in which you can have a really quiet walk through the park or a picnic, but also you can find hundreds of people in Marienplatz to celebrate that the Bayern Munchen have won a game. It has really good cafes and spots to have a unique culinary experience, there are also plenty of museums to go on weekends or whenever you feel like it, the way the museums and galleries have a whole spectrum of activities for you and your family to enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you go alone or accompanied, I assure you’ll have a really interesting experience, there’s also different activities dedicated for different ages.

Also another thing that I love about Munich it has a university atmosphere because of the universities that are based here in the city for example TUM and LMU.

Munich it’s a magical place where you won’t stop having adventures !!!

Viele Grüße,

Valeria

Hallo Leute!!

This time I would like to write about ‘Why am I learning german ?’ Well to begin with back in Mexico in my school my program required me to learn another language other than Spanish and english that’s how I came to chose German. I’ve always been really attracted to the German culture and style of living, also I really think german is a really complicated language that requires a lot of effort and attention to domain it. I’ve been learning german for three years now almost four and I still have amateur mistakes with the grammar and not always understand everything I read or listen, but I’m confident that with the help of my teachers in Deutsche Akademie and my motivation to learn German I will be able to speak, read and write it perfectly.

Now the answer of why I wanted to come to Germany is because I really felt in love with the language besides I want to study mechanical engineering which here in Germany is really well known for having a competent level, also I strongly believe that if I study my career here I would be able to have better chances of finding a job in the future.

Until next time and goodbye,
Valeria

Hallo Leute!!

Valeria
