**Merry Christmas**

So yesterday was my first Christmas!

I got to my boyfriend’s house and then we went to the church.
There was a story about Jesus and a few songs while the story is on.
There were even children who are playing the story!
It was really nice and I even sang with them the songs.

After it was finished I was lighting a candle from the light of Jerusalem!
Because I’m from Israel it was very special for me :)

We came back home and started to give our presents to each other.
I was happy to experience Christmas with people I love.
After the presents we were eating a very nice dinner.
After the dinner we watched a movie and then we went to sleep full of love and happiness.

I’m grateful to be present here in this day!

I will miss Christmas :)

I hope you all had a great Christmas :)

**Christmas Party**

I joined my roommates to a Christmas party.
The party was all about who wears the ugliest sweater.
I must say there were a few really ugly ;)

There were something around 17 people gathering in one apartment.
There was a lot of drinks and a lot of food to everyone!
I met a lot of nice people from all over.

The oddest thing is that I find that too many young Germans don’t know very well English.
And they don’t even want to communicate in English, I guess maybe it’s some national thing :)

When everyone was drunk they started to play games!
I only watched from the side because they were talking only English but it still was very fun and funny to watch from the side.

That’s it, it was a really nice night!

Enjoy Christmas vibes!

**New apartment**

We all know it’s not that easy to find here a nice apartment with a good price.

I was looking in every possible site, and but nothing I really like, and the fact I came here not for a job and not as a student is not really helping me.
I was trying for more than a month, but nothing.

Till some great women I know helped me.
She came to me one day and said, “I have good news for you…”
There is some young guy she knows that wanted someone to join him and his girlfriend.

Of course I was very happy, we met, I came to see the apartment.
Everything was so good, the apartment is amazing, my room a little bit small, but who cares ;)

So, right now I have my own place, some place I can be in and feel comfortable.
Happy that I found this place. I feel good in here :)

My first place here in Munich, I will celebrate with a nice red wine tonight!

**The Big White**

Last weekend me and my roommates decided to go to travel a little bit.
We decided to go to Garmisch, where you can see the “Zugspitze”.

We got there with two trains.
When we got there, we started to walk, all the way was up…
It was not easy with the cold and all the way walking up- climbing.

We got to this amazing lake, and we walked all around it.
All this amazing white, pure, quiet, clean, peaceful way, I felt like I am meditating.

It was so good to go out of the city and to enjoy this view.
I felt so good being in this moment.

The way took us about 5 hours.

I really recommend you to go to enjoy this nature!

It’s only one hour away!

Have fun,

Gal

**Commitment**

So, German is not a simple language.
You need to put some time and energy in it.
You need to commit, you need to want that!

For a while now I’m not doing homework, and I am not doing all the things I should to actually do it right. I understand that if I will only come to the lesson, it’s not enough.
If I really want to be able to communicate, I will have to put everything I have in it!

German is a really beautiful language and I truly believe that without this language, I can not stay.
Germans and Germany wants us to stay here, but they want us to know the language, is that too much to ask? I don’t think so.

So I promise to myself, I will try to do better.
I will try to find my inner power to do it.
To sit at home to repeat everything.

I will start to read my favorite book in German!
“Der Kleine Prinz”

**Nikolaus comes to town**

As a non – Christian I think this all Christmas time that come is very fun and nice.

All this candy and presents. All the street is so nice and light. All the people are getting ready for this special evening right from now!

I’m waiting to experience my first Christmas. I am waiting to decorate my tree for the first time.
And I’m sure I will like it!

So today in my class came one girl from DeutschAkademie office, said hello and gave us all chocolate! I think it is very generous and we all were very thankful for DeutschAkademie idea.

So I hope you all having a good time in this time of the year!

It’s very cold, but at least it’s really beautiful outside ;)

**New friends**

So I came here without anybody.
I came alone, and it’s not easy.
I understood it will be not easy to find here people to make friends with.

I understood that Germany is a different mentality than what I know, and that means I need to play with “different cards”.

I decided that because it’s not easy to get to know people here, maybe we, the class, will go to hang out together!
I decided it one day, and the day after we went to drink a beer together.

We were searching and searching for a good place, till we found something.
It was a traditional place, where the waiters are wearing Dirndl. (I love it)
Not all of the class was there but it was so much fun to go with them.
To get to know a little bit more about them. About their personal story.

I really appreciate each and every one of them.
They are a good group, good people,
And I’m very happy for the opportunity.

We are not only a class anymore. We are friends :)

For sure it will happen again.

**First class**

First day in school was really nice and fun.
I was wondering if I would understand anything the teacher would say, cause the lessons are only in German. And then she started, only German.

I understood the main idea, but not everything perfectly.
It was small talk, really nice and light.
We played and all the lessons just went in a good relaxed vibe.
I felt pretty comfortable, and I hoped it will stay that way.

The other pupils from the class seemed to look really nice.
Each one of us took a part in the lesson, and that’s very important.
Plus the fact we are all so mixed, we are all coming from different countries.

That’s what made the whole experience to be even more fun and interesting.

I’m glad I came to study here! And cannot wait to continue to the other levels.

Cause I know that I’m not only studying here German, but I get to know so many other people from all over the world.

**DeutschAkademie**

I found DeutschAkademie’s site and saw it looks really impressive.
Right away I had a good feeling about it and I decided to take the course.

I have been asked to do an online test.
After the online test I needed to come to do a speaking test.
First I came, I didn’t know what to expect.
In the speaking test when the nice girl was asking me questions, I didn’t understand so much!
But she was smiling the whole time, so I felt ok to do mistakes.

From the start all the people I talked to were really nice and kind.
I felt always comfortable to come and ask everything I had to say.
They were all very clear and positive, what makes everything feel better.

When I saw there is a possibility to write on the blog on the site I was very excited to have the opportunity.

I cannot wait to start to share my own experiences in here in Munich.

**Change**

I was always too hard on myself.
I was always too scared to see I have the power to make the distance.
I think I’m not different than anyone else, actually I think we all pretty similar in this.
I believe we all scared and we all have doubts.
But only a few will face their fears and try to change.

Change is good, change is necessary.
Change makes us grow, not to stay at the same spot.
Change makes us develop.

But we have to try! It’s not an easy thing, no one promises us this.
Life is changing all the time, We are changing all the time. And with it, our dreams and goals.
But we all know it makes us move forward.

So do yourself a favor and when it happens, just let it happen, don’t fight.
Let it lead you to the next step in your journey.

And don’t forget to enjoy the ride ;)
