The heart of Marienplatz

Marienplatz is the most visited and famous place in the city.
Today every tourist knows that the first thing they should do in Munich is to visit Marienplatz. The heart of historic center of this beautiful city. City’s main square is dominated by the richly decorated neo-gothic City Hall. I was delighted by this place when I saw it for the first time. Since then I want to come back there from time to time. And the most exciting thing is that  every time I discover something new that I didn’t notice before. Someone says that the beauty is in the details and I can’t disagree. Another thing that you definitely don’t want to miss is the glockenspiel that you can enjoy at 11:00,12:00 or 5:00 p.m.

If you think that you know everything about this place, do not jump to conclusions. I would like to introduce you to the one of the most beautiful photo spot in Munich. As you know Marienplatz is the heart of Munich, City Hall is the heart of Marienplatz, but what about City Hall’s heart? It has 400 rooms and most of them hosts the city government. Isn’t it a bit sad? But what if I say that one of those rooms is an amazing neo-gothic library? It’s more than 100 years old and still publicly available. Can you believe that nothing has changed since opening?! It’s just a pure perfection, a masterpiece. Unfortunately, the tourists can’t get inside at working hours but it’s possible after closing if you ask staff to take a few pictures. I hope that after reading this article you want to visit Marienplatz for the first time or not it’s doesn’t matter.
